ZVEX Octane III:
Remember the late sixties? Jimi turning everyone on to wild fuzz stuff? Maybe not. But you don't have to be old enough to be a hippie to get off on this wild pedal. The circuit uses a combination of germanium diode and transistor fuzz generation and a ring modulator to turn simple chords into nutso note combinations and complex chords into incredible noise...and makes solos soar impossibly high.

"This pedal is fantastic. My favorite way to use it is with the guitar volume down to 7 or 8 for a really nice warm sparkle fuzz for regular chords and then turn the guitar volume up for soaring awesome sounds. Makes my relatively weak strat pickups scream, adds alot of warmth to low gain sounds. I forgot how much fun palying the guitar was."

"I used it on its own with the pan pedal down so just the octane and ac30 on then unleashed the rivera into the equation. Its basically sounded like an earthquake of tone. Both combined just smashed you in the chest and both at similar volume levels. It can act as an extra sound to other sounds and works really well, ring mod on double stops works well and combined with a Maestro OB-2 on sustain, a zvex fuzz factory then the octane it can get very synthy type of break up which I aimed for."
