ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky:
The ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky is a low-fidelity looping pedal that provides a single 20 second loop, and (if you like) vibrato that can be added to the recorded loop only (with controls for Depth and Speed). The Lo-Fi Loop Junky is really low fidelity. The recording of your guitar is filled with hiss, moan, distortion and warped-record strangeness, but everyone will be able to tell the loop from your real guitar. Because the processing of your direct guitar is done with ZVEX's new bootstrap circuit, with the very highest impedance circuit he's ever developed (even higher than the Super Hard On circuit) your direct guitar will have detail incomparable with anything you’ve ever heard. The juxtaposition of your direct guitar against the smashed, distorted, shimmering/warbling recording of the loop mechanism will make it clear once and for all who is the guitarist and what is the machinery.

The Controls:
  • VOL: loop volume. Gets really loud if you need it.
  • TONE: cuts noise and distortion. Makes the final sound of the loop rolled off and organ-like if necessary.
  • REC: record volume. You can decide how loud to drive the recorder… to overdrive if you like.
  • DEPTH: vibrato depth. Adjust for the level of pitch twisting that makes you happy.
  • SPEED: vibrato speed. Adjust for the speed that spins the sound around in a way that fits the music.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Vibrato only affects the recorded loop, not your direct guitar signal.

REVIEWS & USER COMMENTS:
HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEW 10/10/2008:
"I'm using a strat, a PRS, and an Axe FX. Yep, it's noisy, and yes, it's supposed to be! The first time I tried it, I couldn't believe how "lofi" it sounded, and didn't like it at first. But after a while I started to dig the whole vibe, and in the right context it can sound absolutely beautiful."

HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEW 2/19/2007:
"Quality is as advertised..... so I'll keep the rating high for that! :) Keep in mind this pedal is not as 'clear' as one would normally want out of a looper box. This pedal is intended for people that want to do something new and unique! 20 seconds of loop time with the cool lo-fi filtering is really really interesting, and you can pull off a lot of cool stuff with it! My ES-335 has a installed Piezo pickup (graphtech ghost) and so far my favorite thing to do is record an acoustic passange and play electric stuff overtop! Overall this pedal is great for the old style bluesy acoustic kind of sounds. Very interesting, very useful!"

HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEW 9/28/2005:
"the sound quality, for me, couldn't be any better. i may be the biggest fan of lo-fi sound. i play through an orange amp but i route this from an a/b switch to another tube amp. i don't like cluttering two sounds through one amp (plus i want my fulltone tube tape echo to shine!) perfect for obscure, abstract, ambient, eerie sounding loops."
