The Franklin ProDrive Overdrive pedal is an overdrive that has the transparency, clarity, and tonal quality that is sought after by professional, experienced guitar players. Designed with the touring musician in mind, the ProDrive uses a standard 9v, negative-tip, DC power supply and does not take batteries, since pro players do not use batteries on stage, typically. It is very musical, very harmonic, and very clean, and goes from light overdrive to edgy distortion. The pedal is hand built here in the USA--even the bare circuit boards are made in the USA. Dual Burr Brown OP amps, Dual TX top end OP amps for a huge frequency and tonal range. The pedal is pick-sensative enough where it can be left on all the time.

"I have been playing Blues and Classic Rock for 30+ years and have been using the ProDrive now for about 8 months. I own or have owned over 50 boutique pedals which include the: Timmy, Zendrive, Menatone Red Snapper and Blue Collar, Xotic BB Preamp, Fargen VOS, Barber LTD and Direct Drive, Fulltone OCD, RTO and Distortion Pro, Pedalworx Texas Two Step and Tejas, LovePedal Eternity, MXR Distortion+, LoveKraft Mojo Drive, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive (Keeley mods), MI Audio Tube Zone, TC Jauernig DGTM, NOC3 Pure Drive, HBE Power Screamer and an "Original" 808. There are others that I have forgotten or wanted to forget. I didn't list these pedals to impress anyone, I did it to reinforce what I am about to say. "This is where the ProDrive separates from the crowd. With the four op-amp chips the OD is smooth as glass. You can ramp it up from "just over dirt" to the doorstep of "distortion". I've not heard this range of gain in any other OD. Not just that, but it's clear gain. Every note articulates. Chords, arpeggios, it all sings out as cleanly as you play it. That's a good thing - although it will expose playing deficiencies. Because of that, this pedal will make you a better player! It will also make you a better player because the tone is inspiring and you'll want to play more! I'm already looking forward to the next time I can plug in! ...After 26 years of playing I've finally stopped looking at gain pedals. I was on the tone hunt forever until I came across the ProDrive. The final stages of my quest begain with Rick's SD-1 mod and has concluded here. The only other gain pedal I will add to my board is Rick's distortion pedal when he releases it."
