Since my NS-2 has a mute feature, I run the tuner in bypass mode and leave it on all the time. Battery life is not an issue since everything on my pedal board is powered by a Godlyke Power-All. With the tuner running all the time, I can monitor the tuning while I am playing. If I see that a string is out of tune while I'm playing, I step on the NS-2 after the song, tune silently, unmute the NS-2 and go. Freakin' sweet!"
